This will be apart from the painting and adding extra detail the fastest kit anyone can build because it’s made of two parts the main hull & turret and that’s it
So it took a week or thereabouts to add the extra details, namely some lights at the front and back a couple of grids on the side and one on the front of the main spotlights and a pair of mirrors after that painting everything
The lights were made from clear plastic sprue And trimmed and shaped accordingly the mirrors were made from thin plastic card and stands came off of a old sprue that I had knocking about good reason to keep all your old sprues if they got stuff on still as you never know when it will come in handy and finally, the grids were again from another old model left over sprue and the front grid over the main spotlight was from my leftover piece when I built the Chieftan tank and they supplied some simulated netting
So after that all that was left to do was to add the turret to the hull which took about 10 seconds
So overall this is as simplistic as you can get the model comes a grey plastic finish and is sticky to the touch so it needs washing before attempting to do anything and all the extras that I added were stuck on using CA glue as the Tamiya wouldn’t bond to anything period
The model was brush painted using acrylics from Revell aqua colour range along with some from Tamiya which were a bit finicky with regards to coverage frequently disolving into nothing and leaving the surface unpainted necessitating several coats whereas the revell paint covered first time
The other thing is the lack of decals and after searching online and looking at dozens of images the only Abbots that had markings on them were the privately owned ones normal military photos of them were totally devoid of any type of markings that I could see so I have left mine blank as well
So is it a proper model? Having only two parts that’s for you to decide like I said I found it by accident on eBay whilst browsing the net and thought I’ll try that and see what comes out
