Another goldie oldie.....new tool in 1979.

If i was going to make it accurate it would be a burnt out hulk with the turret upside down 10m away ??

I remember building this after seeing Francois Verlindens version in his Verlinden way Volume one as a Syrian one knocked out during the 1973 war.I enjoyed building mine.Watching your build.

        Much the same as Richard.

My effort ended up destroyed in the desert.(on purpose) I did however enjoy the build. I would post a picture, but such unsolicited things are quite rightly frowned on.

I have no interest in the accuracy of models, I just have fun with what's in the box. It made up into a nice kit- despite it's short comings and can be bought for well under £20!

I agree with you mate. Its the enjoyment for me not if kit is top drawer. If it looks like the kit on the box its good enough for me.

I find a kit with a gazillion parts....pe.....lots of extras......can be off putting........tiny parts simply so the manufacturer can make the parts count look impressive

theres a joy in making a simple kit look good

Exactly!......as long as you are happy then thats whats important

Unless you are one of these people that likes to build to put on display at a show (or likes to collect gongs in competitions) how many people actually see our models 'in the flesh' as it were?......and those who do see probably have no idea how accurate is.........or even what it is!!

Always 100 per cent Paul. Each to their own and i hate getting bogged down with loadsa Photo etch and fannying around.I like a bit of detailing with plasticard and thats it for me.Im not competition orientated and enjoy the cameraderie of the hobby and sharing an interest.
                      Happy modelling always

So now we get to the interesting bit......the reason why i bought this kit in the first place.....a cheap test mule for me to try and remember how to do oil spot filters.....must be about 5 years since i last tried this

                              So state of play is.......

I used a humbrol wash thats meant for green vehicles.......not too impressed so i hope it all tones down when the final matt varnish goes on......then ive gone spotty with the oils as in the pic.......next step is the thinner ? at least if it all goes wrong i can just flush it with thinner and turn it into an ordinary wash in the nooks and crannies

It will take a week or so to dry off so see you then ?

Are you waiting a week for it to dry, and then add the thinners, or adding the thinners now then waiting a week for it all to dry? Cheers
