Sorry.....i meant do the brushing then leavefor a week or so......oils take ages to dry properly ive always found.....and longer you give them the better

Ah ok, yep thats the advice I got, although when I did my British paratrooper if was dry after three or four days, had it near a radiator though., (it was lightly weathered with oils.

Interesting Paul.Ive never tried the oil dotty technique.Im too stuck in the past and an oil or enamel wash is my usual wrinkle.Ive tried the odd filter and it can look ok on my 72nd stuff.

Oil dot is my preferred method due to it being very controllable as to the depth and colour you want for the outcome.

Current state of play

Not quite turned out as well as expected but im so out of practice using oils but it has given some modulation. Cant be bothered to rework the oils so its had a couple of coats of matt clear and the road wheels added

Next step is tracks on and then try misting on some dirt

Oh and i know i got the Dushka wrong......didnt realise i got the mount in front of instead of behind the ammo can til it was too late but im going with it now
