I picked this up at the Peterborough show at the weekend. It is the Takom Sd.Kfz.250/3. The box artwork represents the vehicle used by Field Marshall Rommel "Greif" or Griffon other versions of the vehicle can be made including the "Ardler" or Eagle.
The vehicle itself met the brief for an armoured half track to provide support signals, forward observation and scouting in support of tanks as requested by the German Inspectorate for motorised troops in 1939. it was powered by a 100hp Maybach 6 cyl water cooled 4.17 litre HL 42 TRKM petrol engine. Linked to a Maybach SRG 102 semi auto gearbox providing 7 forward and 3 reverse gears giving a top speed of 75kph (47mph)
The Greif was a standard vehicle upgraded with radios, aerial frame and extra Jerry cans.
The kit itself

On opening the box you are presented with 16 grey sprues including 2 that contain a drive and a figure of Rommel. They are beautifully moulded with no flash and very fine detail. Also in the box are 1 clear sprue, 1 small sheet of etch, 1 length of copper wire and a sheet of decals with choices for 5 vehicles.
The instructions are presented in an A5 sized booklet.
Hope you can join me.
cheers
