This build has made me think a bit, I do love the Russian Bears. Am coming out with a series of builds called "Soviet Steamrollers" which will showcase a number of Russian armored and support vehicles. I guess I'll do it in kind of a rolling thread in "completed armored vehicles" as the builds will be coming along periodically and don't fret "Eye Deep In Hell" will also be progressing, I just feel the need to diversify a bit so I don't stagnate on any particular project. Work coming along fantastically, watching closely............Jim

have the base coat all done did not like the loo of the

Russian green they said to use, looked to green and not right,

as you can see from the last 2 pics,of a KV,its a lighter green, and more washed out,

so I tried to go along these lines,

once it is weathered and washed it will lighten up even more,

A lot of people go on about which is the best version of 4BO green Moni! Almost as many who worry about the right shade of Dunkelgelb or RLM 74,76, 81... so it really doesn't matter as long as it's green!

I think yours looks just right & a good base for the weathering.

I bet you get peeps thinking the last pic is your finished build though!

ta Patrick do appreciate ,the confo on the color,

your so right about the colors and this comes up alot with them ,real there is no right or wrong as so

much needs to be taken into account with them,

same with the hatch color inside is it white or green ?

I think on the late it was white but maybe wrong on that one,

well the last pic is some what the look i would like to get as a finish,

I've always done my inner hatch covers as ivory - for all Allied & Axis vehicles.

a Tommy glad your liking her so far,

can start the weathering in the next day or so,but a little unsure when to put the decals on ?

and I should of lefted off the runs to the top as well ,would of made it easier to lighten the

                            middle of the turret,

but will work out some think, thinking ,thinking lol,

Always decals before the weathering Moni - imagine the life of the tank after its left the factory where any markings might be applied & then unit markings were added at a field workshop before it had seen any action.

ta Patrick so this is the time to pop them on,so you can blend and even cover if need be,

as i see what you mean as they would looked pop on at the end,
