You have to do this kit Scott, even without the resin it is a good kit. I am sure you could easily scratch build the generator and the supplied raised rear floor is more than good enough and a lot easier to fit. Just let me finish mine first so people can forget it before they see how it should be done

Now you're getting used to small stuff, have a go at a 1/700 ship with detail set
Tamiya Yamato 1/700 coming up soon Ralph although it is already started but not too far into it. However, at the time I believe it was the biggest battleship/battle cruiser? Of its day so that is cheating a bit I suppose

Nice work on the lamp Graham - it's funny how all of us put so much time & effort into something that'll never be seen!

The weird thing is that I said I wasn't going to bother as it was my intention to close it up. In fact, the covers are now glued on so even the odd looking black colour infrared lens will never be seen again. But when it came to assembling it, I just could help doing it. The mirror was even sprayed with Tamiya X-1 gloss black followed by Alclad Aluminium (I didn't have any Chrome)! It is perverse because I cannot stand unseen detail lol

You & me both! The pursuit of perfection may be an impossible dream, but if it's not done it nags away at the mind

Not much done today and no working pictures. The lamp stand and additional resin was incredibly fiddly to build up, not difficult just fiddly. Because of this I just worked through it and didn't keep stopping to take pictures.

Still a few bits to go on, a couple of electrical boxes of which there are many. I am looking at loads of pictures to see if I can get an idea of external wiring so that I can add some lead wire. If not, I may just add some using artistic licence. The operators infrared viewfinder has some clear parts in it which make it look odd but these will be all painted over. The resin seat is much plusher than the plastic part but all other resin is in addition to the kit parts, only the seat is a replacement. There are a couple of hand wheels to go on as well but for all intents and purposes, it is time to get back to finishing the vehicle.

So here it is, over a hundred parts in total, very fiddly but a very nice rendition of the real thing.

This is going to sound silly but when I looked at this next picture, it was the first time I had noticed the radiator detain on the generator.
