    Takom M3 Lee(Late)

    I took care of that seam already. I textured the drive housing and upper turret because they were to smooth for castings.

            Hi Tony
            I can understand making a tank named after yourself :smiling4:
            Looks a nice kit. The cast texture looks well done. You have mastered the link/length tracks - they look good. Never made a Takom kit but if this is their standard then certainly something for the future. As Ross said - bring on the dirt.

                Reminds me to find my partially finished M3 Grant ( Tamiya MM141 ) and get it finished.
                Has sat in its box for at least 20 years.

                  Hi Tony,
                  I have the M31 recovery vehicle based on the Lee from Takom. Have you found any part numbers on the sprues not tallying with the plans. trying a different approach with this one. stick all the etch where possible on the major kit parts before assembling every thing.

                  Cheers Mike :sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:

                    I enjoyed building the Late so much I went off the deep end and bought all these too:

                    These should hold me for awhile.

                      Wow Tony...that looks like a years supply of Lee's. I've seen a friends kit while he was building, really crisp and fine moulding. If I'm not mistaken each bogie is a build in itself.

                      Cheers,
                      Richard

                        Hi Tony,
                        Did we get a bonus from work or cash the wife's insurance policy in......lol.
                        As you know I'm in the middle of the build with the M 31 recovery vehicle. The moulding is great on it. Double check part numbers against the plans........ some do not marry.
                        Which one will you start first.

                        Cheers Mike :sleeping::sleeping::sleeping:

                          Mike I thought I might start on the "Mid" since it's the newest and do kind of a review type build.
                          No bonus or insurance,I got a loan from my food fund for next month,bologna and peanut butter/ jelly sandwiches till I pay it back.:hungry:

                          Richard the bogies are almost that but i've got experience from the "Late" and should make building them easier.
                          The tracks are another story but I don't give in that easily

                            I see that you don't use PE but it may be interesting for you that one Russian company will make a good set of PE for Takom's Grant.

                              Neo I LOVE PE but over the years they've priced them selfs right out of my pocket. You use to get the full gambit of parts in a set for a reasonable price but now they've broken them into smaller groupings and by the time you buy all of what you use to get you've spent a small fortune.
                              All this was one set and went on or in my Brummbar.
