Andrew,
Most Tamiya tanks are ideal for a first time build - they fit together very well, and most importantly look the part when finished. They may not be as detailed as some of the other makers offerings ( or as costly ), but careful painting helps a lot! Their instructions are pretty clear, which is more than can be said for some major manufacturers! The Tammy Churchill and Cromwell are good models, but it depends on which period and country you are aiming for..........
Good Modelling
Dave

Welcome aboard. A great kit to start with, and has been said already there is no such thing as a dumb question we are all learning off each other everyday.

Quick update. Going slow and hope I am doing it correct? I guess paint will cover the glue smudges? Painted the shovels & tools last night, will add photos tonight.

Nothing that jumps out as so wrong you should have known better

Unless it’s actual blobs of tube cement, then yes, it will.

As little as possible But yeah, I’ve got a scar on my left thumb, just behind and to the left of the nail, where I managed to stab through the finger with a hobby knife once upon a time — there was a wound maybe a centimetre long at the top of the thumb and one a few millimetres long on the underside … I’ve cut my fingers more times than I can remember (I don’t even feel it anymore — I tend to notice spots of blood on my tools, model, etc. and realise I must have cut myself), I’ve sawed into them (a little), drilled into them, and once even managed to get a staple in my thumb as a result of building models. That last one was a weird sight: both the sharp ends in my flesh and the flat bit sitting a millimetre or so above it, and it didn’t even hurt (though I did feel it).

Hi Andrew
All looking fine to me :thumb2:
Modelling should be classed as a dangerous sport! Knocked a scalpel off the bench onto my leg the other day. And it had to land blade first!!
