    Bob,
It might just be me but I'm not sure that works but there are far better figure painters then me who will give you a better opinion.

Bob, In my mind it looks just right if you are going for the faded and weathered look. Otherwise you might think about a little darker shading of green.
Just my thoughts. Cheers, Rick H.

        Cheers Rick, appreciate your thoughts.

I'm going to try and vary the shades of khaki drab between the figures. In fact it's not very obvious but the shirt on this one is a slightly darker shade than the trousers.

I'm basing the figures on the uniforms in MASH which always seemed to be quite faded and worn.

What I'm more interested in trying to achieve is getting the darker tones in the creases first rather than apply a darker wash after the top coat as I have done in the past.

Cheers Paul, I'm not sure myself hence the question. I'm certainly no figure painter either.

            Hello Bob,
Catch up time again. I like the weathering, nice and subtle and that makes a change from tons of chipping. Figures, can i suggest you put on the main coat first and then work in the shadows with a darker thinner mix, and build up the shadow and the same with the highlights except using a lighter shade. There are figure painters on this forum that can explain it better than me. But still pleased with your build, very impressive.
            Mike.

              Cheers Mike.

Figures are not my thing, think I will bin the pre-shading idea and do my usual attempts at weathering after painting.

This is one of my favourite builds on the forum at the moment. Keep up the great work and I am sure the figures will work in well. Top stuff mate:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

                  Cheers Steve.

Going to get everything matt coated tonight, then tomorrow everything's getting packed away.

Apparently the missus wants the dining room table back for Christmas dinner. Bloody cheek. :tears-of-joy:

I don't mind to much. She's a manager at Sainsbury's so she's on 12 to 14 hours shifts every day up to Christmas.

Build looking top notch Bob. Really sutle finish and I must say the paint work is some else ! In my dreams on the paint .

Figures, that seems a good idea. There seem to be so many ways out there to try , I think your idea of doing the darker shades first is right. A lot of guys do preshading on planes and armour so why not this way.
                        John .

Everything is now packed away for Christmas, but I did get the Matt cost down yesterday, and today I added the bogies, return rollers and sprockets.
