This is looking pretty good already — and certainly a different kind of M3 than you usually see, which I very much approve of

Hello All, Many thanks for your comments and praise, John, Pete, Jakko, Lee and Christian.
Steve, I really could not find any published info on this vehicle. But when I was getting up close and personal with it, we used it for everything in the battalion that required lifting. As we did not have the recovery 432 (434 I think) this was the vehicle that was used, and as we were only infantry we did not really warrant anything special. But I think John R can furnish us with further information.
          Cheers
          Mike.

            Update,
Nothing really done today, the jib/hoist is finishes as far as the framework is concerned and will remain in the 'jig' for a couple of days. But I have not been sitting idle, as you will read on my other blog.
            More later
            Cheers, Mike.

              Mike,
an excellent choice I have been tempted to try and build one of these my self, so I will be following along very closely. If memory serves they had one of these parked on a plinth outside the guardroom at the TTA SEME in Bordon

                Scottie,
It is really an easy build, but if you have the Dragon kit then there is a bit of alteration with measurements but it is in mm's if that. And of course depending on how you want to outfit the vehicle. I can let you have all of my material/plans when you decide, just let me know.
                Cheers
                Mike.

                        Hi Mike
Great project. Brilliant work to date. Engine and cab detail is really nice. Scratched roof and gantry up to your usual highly skilled standard.
                        Jim

If you do to this link, there is a very old film of R.E.M.E. in the field, at approx 4 minutes in is one of these in use, interesting piece of film.

                              Hope you didn't mind Mike
