    Trumpeter KV-2 "Big Turret" 1/35

So my KV-2 arrived quite fast from China to Croatia. Time to start this project nice and easy. The box is big and here are some photos of the box content. The detail on the parts is excellent.

    Matija,
You'll enjoy this, the parts go together well, and it's impressive when finished. The link and length tracks look much better, with their built in 'sag', and are easier to paint than the vinyl parts.
You might already be aware of this site 4BO Green http://www.4bogreen.com/ but it can be a useful reference to Soviet WWII tanks

          Nice kit.

When I built it I used this mix of Tamiya paints for the 4BO.

          06 parts XF-61 Dark Green + 02 parts XF-49 Khaki + 02 parts XF-58 Olive Green.

I will write that down for later, thanks. Do you have an advice for the barrel?

              Hi Matija,

I had to go and look up my old thread as I couldn't remember. As it turns out I used a metal barrel from RB models.

              Cheers,

              Bob

I built this kit soon after it came out, and didnโ€™t see anything wrong with the kit barrel. Just take care to get rid of the seam, as usual

                    Matija.
Looking fwd to this, one of my favorite tanks. I did one some time ago and used as Dave has said the link and length tracks.

Thanks for sharing Matija. Looking forward to seeing how this goes together. I will sit with JR and listen to his words of wisdom an all things Russian. Good luck:thumb2::thumb2:

I will be following this build closely as I have an 87 scale version in the stash.
                        Cheers, Rick. H.

I will sit it on this and enjoy the build.

So this has been done for now. I will be applying filler on a few gaps tomorrow and then sand it down. The kit is awesome. So many details on it and the best are yet to come. It feels so great to build models again. I just made a little boy inside of me very happy

                              Matija,
The Trumpeter KV-1s are just as good! Simple builds, with well fitting parts. I've got the Trumpeter SU-152 in my stash, same running gear - I am tempted to go and dig it out........
