And starting on the hull "tub" - side panels need amending by removing the highlighted portion

The tracks are actually really nicely moulded despite the 3 point attachments - but they do need gluing as they don't clip together

Base coat on turret & hull - MIG Russian "oil ochre" is a good match to the museum yellow base - it's slightly more orange in daylight

First attempt at the 3-colour scheme - still awaiting the undercarriage

weathering should tone down the colours a bit...

Undercarriage & Tracks on and a quick slosh over of a muddy wash to tone down the colours a bit

Great work on the camo scheme Mark. You must be pleased with the way it turned out. Good luck with the pigments. Are you making your own or using AM stuff?

                    Thanks Steve,

I'm a cheapskate at heart so I tend to grid up pound shop chalk pastels - I find they can be applied dry or with thinners to flow into recesses.

I have bought a few washes / pigments but only when they were in clearance bins at shows ( I'll pay £2 but not £7.50 or more !)

I usually overspray with matt varnish - I've found that Windsor & Newton Galleria Matt Acrylic is really good & 250ml is less than £10. It can also be thinned very slightly with plain water.

                    Mark

I use W&N Galleria Matt as well. Never let me down. I agree with you on the pigments also

There are a lot of left over parts on the sprues so I assume Mirage must use the same ones in several kits....
