    John,
some of the drawings can be a bit vague/confusing - add to that the likes of Dragon proof reading, and you can end in a mess!. I spent several years creating engineering drawings, and when 3D CAD developed - I also did assembly drawings, and the technical text to accompany them. I can see the shortcomings of many instructions! All I do is sit there, and dry fit the bits every which way they can be! Eventually the correct way will be found!

Dave part success ! the steering parts fitted perfectly , then it went a bit pear shaped. Those front light parts didn't fit , again the crappy drawing defeated me. I tried them every and each way, if they fitted the front track guard didn't , so left them off.

Step away mate. Theres nothing there that cant be fixed. Have another look at it tomorrow.

I can see those tracks are going to be a bugger to bend around the wheels. The Master from t'north may be able to come up with a good idea on how to bend them around the wheels but I fear it may involve strong glue, clamps and a lot of patience.

Hi mate, really fed up with this, so much so that it nearly end up in the bin. Those internal things just won't fir, and as they tracks are beyond me I think a burnt out wreak, any photos would be helpful as I'm starting to want to go this way in future. Using a photo and modelling from it.

As for the track though about using some heat ! ( NOT FIRE )

Here is link for a walk around of a BT 5

            HERE

Looking at those tracks again - if you cut each link in half, (or did they come as single links and you have stuck them all together?) to make a single link, that go around the front and rear wheels, and then reglue each single link one at at a time in place, that might do it with a bit of filler/pigments???

Steve , they come as mixed sets, but are in differing groups, the bottom run is the longest, as the tracks start to turn they become single or two links . There is a diagram which I have stuck to

              Thanks for the link.

Sounds like the links are premade to fit into certain positions so should be good to go without cutting them up. Maybe a fresh set of eyes tomorrow will do the trick.

Hi mate, I half sawed through that link that was to pronounced and then bent it and |ca'd into place.
Been looking for wreaks of the BT-5, might have to remove that aerial thingy. Bit scarce.

I Really can’t keep up with who’s building what, where and when :astonished::upside:

Your a sucker for the fiddly diddly stuff Mr Race and to your credit you don’t just give up! Forget the glue marks, we all get them from one degree to another....a bit of primer and paint and no one will be any wiser !

                    keep it coming that man

Sorry to hear your having problems with this. I'm sure you will lick into shape. Steve has posted some interesting pics. I wouldn't mind having ago myself.

Very nice of you Steve, unfortunately the build is no more, those damned tracks were the last straw. They are in the bin and the tank is going to be used for rust practice , so that top photo may be used at some point.Might buy the Tamyia version later, as I have some Fruil tracks for the BT-7.

Cheers Paul, as I said to Steve. Moving on no point in worrying some things I just can't manage.

                            Jim,
yes, there comes a point when you have to say enough is enough, and bin the offender - it's amazing the feeling of relief when you open a new kit box...............

Dave your spot on there, I set to and finished the dio with the bike and fitted all the wheels on the StuG. At least those tracks being Fruil I can enjoy .
Might get the Tamiya BT - 7 , at least Tamiya instructions are clearer !
