Think I over did the thickness , but thew results were to my liking with the finish later.

Allowing it to dry with the help of a hair dryer I soon had a flat finish to lay the 4BO on. Then chipping followed.

To night the model has come into the house to fully dry in the warm, tomorrow a coat of gloss varnish to allow further weathering to follow.

Thanks for looking in Lee, appreciated.
I put the gloss varnish coat on this morning, shook and then strained the varnish first, so no lumps. ! Now resting for a day until the weathering continues.:smiling3:

Hi , good to see Pete supporting the crush the Stug campaign, too many of them about ( Sorry Bob )
Being do the weathering while building a few surprises, like a 1/72 Plane and a BA64. More on that later..........

First some photos of the weathering.

At first glance it may seem over done, but its going to be in the bog, abandoned by the crew the previous Autumn, so's suffered the ravages of a Russian winter.
The final will be set in the bog in the spring/summer. Still to do a few markings, just the Red Star and a final coat of mat varnish when its complete.

Thanks Pete, you know the feeling, keep looking at it and start to wonder.

                  Hi John
I'm with Peter - not over done at all. If I was left out over a Russian winter I think I'd look a bit rough!! :confounded:
                  Gonna be another cracking dio.

Evening John, looking good to me too.
Being that it’s been abandoned for a while in a wet location, you would expect the thing to look pretty rough:thumb2:

Blooming marvellous Captain John.I remember building Tamiyas elderly Kvs aged 16 and they were out if production for years. All through the 80s we couldnt get them. Then E.D models got some in and i bought t.34s,Kv 1 and 2,Su.85 and 122.Modelling heaven back then with Verlindens books.
                          Excellent model dear boy.

That finish in my opinion is just right. Will the star be a decal or stencil? Cheers Rick H.
