Hi all
So having got juices flowing with the completion of the Crusader AA but not yet having the opportunity to get the AB out yet - roll on next week - and having a couple of days off either side of the weekend, I thought I would add to the pile of things that needed to see some paint.
This depicts a prototype that the Canadians apparently only made one of. As I'll be using this for Junior's Brit forces I've dispensed with the rocket launchers. As usual I've used a metal barrel to minimise the risk of snapping in our battles
It's been an interesting if frustrating build at times for the following reasons:
Pros
Cons
I've probably made it sound worse than it is but I'll let you be the judges!
As you'll also see form the last picture it wasn't a small vehicle either!!
ATB and ACW as usual.
Andrew

It's been an interesting if frustrating build at times for the following reasons:
Pros
- On the whole nicely detailed, with a pretty full interior if that's your thing (not mine though) - engines x2, seats, steering wheel and nicely done gun breach.
- Good moulding with minimal flash, apart from the turret basket.
- It feels nice and solid once built.
Cons
- Stupidly over engineered IMHO - 120+ pieces. There were a number of occasions when something used three or four pieces when one would have sufficed, sometimes leading to seams/joins in odd places. As an example, the engine had 11 pieces and the gun plus turret front was also made up of 11!!
- Best detail hidden. I personally don't go for interiors but even if I did, fully opened up most of it would still be hidden. The gun breach being the best/worst example, with only the very end visible from the turret hatches.
- The way the gun is mounted meant I found impossible to glue the mounting brackets in place without gluing the gun in place too and so it can't be elevated.
- Instructions - although they weren't too bad on the whole, they did occasionally call out for wrong/non-existent parts and weren't always clear on where items should be fitted.
- Poor fit and gapping in a number of places (I still have to fill these). The engine/crew compartment bulkhead was too tall and stopped the hull roof fitting without some sanding and scraping....oh and the bow machine gun position meant it was impossible to put the headlights in the right place....oh and look at the hull above the rear left hand wheel.....
- Despite the good interior detail, external detail was poor or even missing in some places - the worst culprit being the turret mounted AA machine gun which is awful.
- Locating points missing/unclear on the exterior, so it was sometimes a bit of guess work on where major parts were meant to go.
I've probably made it sound worse than it is but I'll let you be the judges!
