Thanks Peter, to be fair its done with Ferric Chloride, a mix made with water and the sheet is dipped in , if you leave it too long it eats it away ! Certainly gives to right look.

Surprisingly I came out better than I had hoped for as I didn't do any dry brushing.

I know Bob, the lady across the road calls it "Stupid oclock " Since I've retired I normally get about around 0830 and later.

                        A wooden bat?

                        Cricket, baseball or vampire?

I suspect our good JR is referring to what we in the USofA refer to as a "ridge cap". :rolling: Rick H.

I had intended to say batten !

Hi Rick, thank you for your help, we also would say " ridge cap " or capping.

Today spent some time doing Friuls, takes me some time with my limited depth of field, but armed with the optovisor It is a lot easier.

I did try some double sided tape, the idea seems ok, and the links stayed on, but could I get the wire through !
Admitted defeat and returned to holding between fore finger and thumb and pushing the wire through, at least that way you have some wiggle room.
Hope to complete this stage tomorrow.

                              John.
