    1/87 Armored Panzer Grenadier Company

Various marks of 251s making up a late war PG Heavy (attached elements) Company. Many have been started years ago, but most are unfinished. Some pics of 3rd pltn. & some Stab elements under construction.

Paul, out of interest, do you find references to camo schemes and markings for the units you want to portray, or is that fictional?

Great when you find some older half finished kits and have a use for them. :thumb2:

Jack, most camo schemes are patterned after examples in ref. materials, but much is guesswork due to the dearth of color pics. The units are representative of actual TO&Es and sometimes artistic license is used for field expedient conversions. The unit markings are usually accurate or absent if I'm unsure.
It should be interesting Scottie, as there are several different versions of 251 to be represented.

Paul. Looking good I’ll keep a close watch on this I think I can concentrate a little more since JR has eased his social distancing a little bit by taking his whirlybird hat off

Can I ask why you have left them in bare plastic with green splodges on top rather than painting them dunkelgelb as normal Paul?

                      Thank you gentlemen & Monica.
Jack, 'Panzer Colors I, II, & III' are excellent soft cover sources for most things WWII German modeling. 'Panzer Tracts' are for the real nitty-gritty.
Simon, trying something different. DG always looks too dark to me on these little guys & each layer of paint reduces the details. How's 331 look now?

A fine set of vehicles. If you paint the whole vehicle one color do you do it in thin layers or dry brush it on??

Hi Paul - well it looks like brown to me. Why not just lighten the DG slightly and airbrush thin layers?

                            Steve, hairy stick, thin coat.
Simon, me and AB don't get along. It did come out brown didn't it. I was trying for more contrast, but the weather wash was too brown I guess. Well, back to the old way.
                            Thanks for commenting guys. PaulE

Paul. Maybe if you give the a light sand wash it might help with lighting it up I like using MiG. Sand wash in a case like this
