    T80 something and BTR70 something

I built the BTR a few days back but decided airbrush and these temperatures probably aren't beneficial so dragged the T80 out of the stash ,won't take the link and length any further as covered by the fenders ,not a bad little kit but a fair bit of square peg round hole fiddling, vague instructions , have knocked off as mutch etch as I've glued on ,came with turned brass barrel but the detail was better on the plastic one especially the thermal jacket?

Hi Simon the BTR is Trumpeter very simplified only a couple of small sprues, I've got a BTR80 by Ace arrived today most of the reviews say its for the brave only but were see. The T80 is model collect a slight stinker for them ive always found their stuff ok ,will man up and do them both tri tonal need to get away from mono tone but in my own humble opinion mono tone is much harder especially in 1/72 if not careful you end up with a coloured lump im sure you know what I'm trying to say. Thought the BTR looked Trumpeter like - I have a couple in the stash
Also have an ACE - can’t remember if it is an 80 or a 70. It is in white on the box top. Not dared open that one yet having done an ACE kit before

Have a few Model Collects - they look good, not built any

Shall look forward to seeing these progress :thumb2:

Ace kits are usually not that bad accept it for what it is and go with the flow plus their limited run ,but as ive said with the Eastern block stuff it might not be all that but your subject matter is endless. Dave

I've only built one ACE Dave, the T62 but I ended up replacing a lot of the kit as it wasn't very good - sort of put me off a bit even though they do a great range of subjects

Your T80 looks to be better moulded

That's a terrific build Dave. Nice to see. Looks a half decent kit. Like the additions you have made. Hopefully the heatwave will stop soon so you can get some paint on her.

This is the kit as you can see seems a nice fret of etch and a high parts count Dave. Click image for larger version
