      Hiya comrade Jones,
Ive found it’s all always best to find picture references if your using some of these etch kits.....some of the time the etch replacement looks nothing like the part as you’ll know.

I got a little something else for this kit coming shortly

Agree it was a game changer this tank.....an Interesting history behind its development too. And the numbers....good god did they build a lot of these buggrs :surprised:!!!!
Delving into the manufacturing side of things they constantly built them with fewer and fewer parts, reducing the costs and man hours.
        I like the research stuff:nerd:

Last ones made in 1958, in Czechoslovakia - in total over 84,000 made, nearly 100,000, if you include the SPG variants - only the T54/55 tank was produced in greater numbers...............

Not much spare time today due to Daddy duties...... mind you I don’t mind playing play dough, guess who and minecraft :smiling5:

I haven’t taken much notice of the assembly order the instructions indicate.....and I’ve bounced ahead to turret construction.

The etch set has some replacements for the turret hatch hinges. In all honesty the kit ones looked good but I failed to find any actual pictures to compare either with!

The etched ones even have weld detail....not seen that before!

It took another attempt to straighten them up and re-glue....these PE hinges are workable too!

Si. Very nice I like the welded seams at lease this would disappear when the wet stuff goes on

See, that's what I'm talking about Mr. Benson,

Voyager's destructions may not be clear, but the detail on the etch is killer. Goes right along with the Manga faces they print on them too. I don't get the connection at all.

Keep going Si, this will be sweet with all the details!!!

I'm doing well and working way too much for my age!!!

                    Prost

Made some progress over the last few days. The turret had it grab rails fitted...

Need to clean up the glue and might have a go at making weld runs with putty

Been busy chopping bits off!! So I cut out the two louvre pieces on the rear deck...

The etch replacements are easy to piece together, they are thinner and can be angled....

And just for good measure I cut out the engine deck hatch for reasons that may become clear later ....

Ooh how exciting, nice looking kit Si, and the shiny stuff , bling in over drive.
Look at the gracefully lines , beats a StuG hands down. Don't tell Bob !
