    Update,
So back on this build at last. The launch arm, rollers and mount have all been primed and recieved a top coat.... I searched through my paints (not really, just looked in the drawers) and found differing shades of NATO Green. And you know how it goes do I use this one or that one or....... So! I got out some of the greens that with a little tinkering pre dark wash were near to NATO Green, and a study of photos..... So! out of the six bottles I had AK, 4BOx2, Zlens***** whatever x2, another green x2 and then from Vallejo there was that starter set for Olive Drab vehicles of which I used three of those little bottles, and I think there was actually an AK olive drab thrown in for good measure... There was no ratio used or scientific examination they were all drained into an empty 100ml bottle, given a good shaking and out came a green that looks more NATO Green than what is on offer.... Pics later if you insist.
Also through the spray shop was the susspension units and all the wheels, drive sprockets and return rollers to give the new cheapie airbrush a workout, and it performed better than expected.
Today has been detail day - first on the bench was the commanders periscopes and guard, then the two fire extinguisher brackets that fit onto the frame and finally the wiring and junction box So,

As the pics show the bits for the brackets, then one bracket close up and finally all in place. I was going to add the fire extinguishes themselves but they would hide the brackets....
Next it is detailing the hatches, lights and then a look around to see if i have missed anything before priming takes place.
    Cheers
    Mike.

I agree with Scottie Mike, that really is some seriously great work, seems almost a shame to hide it under paint.

            Update,
The main vehicle is now in primer, decided to give the rattle can primer a rest and use some of the Mr Hobbu Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500 Gray.... And first results are very favourable - BUT, use in a well aired room, and wear a correct filter mask. I thinned it about 50/50 but it could have been about 40% thinners. I went around and found a few things missing like headlights and guards etc and then when going around spraying I realised I had left off the filler caps, what a clown, still these can be added later.

                        Quick update,
The wheels, sprockets and return rollers are all finished as is the suspension and are now ready to be fitted. The missing fuel caps have been built from scratch and are on the bench.
The Hull is now painted with just the detail painting to be completed...

So now going to have a break for a few hours, to allow the paint to harden.
                        Cheers
                        Mike.

Wibble I admire a man who has his shaving brush with him on the bench, shows a devotion to the bench and not wasting time in the bathroom.

Wobble, Used to have one of those electric things with the three rotating heads, using it one day and the beard got stuck in the slots and jammed it - walked around the house for half an hour before I got up the guts to just yank it off....... I now use the foam - pushed the top down to get some out and could not stop it - foam all over the bathroom......

                                Morn Olderthanme,

Great to see you working on this beauty again Mike. It is a shame you covered it in paint after all the fine etch work and scratchy you did. A question, Are the boltheads on the plumbing brackets after market or do you punch them out yourself??? They are tiny and look really nice...
Sorry to hear, you never learned how to shave properly or use the existing utensils to do the job...We all have our faults in these matters...
Hope the scan goes well Buddy...

                                Prost
