I'd be interested to see a small portion of that base done in fine mode to see the finer layering

You might try brushing the surface with Tet to minimise the build layers. Post processing is a whole other can of worms :rolling:

Not the same base, but a portion of a 70 X 70 cobbled base, printed at 0.15 layer thickness ( a diorama base for a 1/16 figure? )

Haven't printed anything at superfine, yet - the print times are lengthy!

Trailer tracked - I've given the base two coats of primer - it looks too light in the picture, it's actually more beige - the digital camera trying to make sense of something in the fading light!

            looking goood Dave,
I'm liking that 'figure base', there's plenty of potential for it.

These are still early days for the 3D printing I'm still tinkering with the settings - so much so, that I've had little modelmakng time. I'm going to have to work out some balance.................

I gave the base a coat of gloss varnish, then applied Black Vallejo Game Ink, left for a minute or so, then surplus removed with kitchen towel dampened with IPA. Stowage items all primed

Diluted fifty to seventy five percent with water and a few drops of flow aid added and the ink pretty much becomes the wash anyway Dave

As soon as I put the cap on the ink bottle - I saw the black wash laughing at me from behind a bottle of primer!

First day of being able to breathe through my nose! I thought 'd better get on with this, otherwise the 3D printer will take all my time ( I don't know where it all goes! )

Base all ready for use - washes of grey/dark grey, allowed to partly dry, then wiped with kitchen towel - a final spray of matt varnish................

The main items, nearly ready to get dirtied up. They are 'dainty', and I'll have to careful not to overdo the weathering.
These will be the last pictures in this section, the next will be in the completed area.
I have to say that the 3D printed base looks good after painting - this was one of my earliest prints, and now I'm more familiar with the settings I reckon I can improve on it. I migt be able to upscale it a bit, for a larger vehicle, but you have to make sure you don't create unfeasibly large individual slabs
