Hi chaps, been poorly yada-yada-yada etc, hence not been on and building has been slow.
However, here is the piccies of my latest build a 1/16 RC Challenger 2 in a early spec version, lot of scratch made parts from what you get in the basic accessories.
She has metal gearboxes, metal tracks and metal sprockets and idlers with a tensioning system.
Shown on the workbench she is 90% finished with internals to finish off. The warning light works from the transmitter using the smoke unit function, this is disabled as they burn out and coat your internals in smoke oil.
Scratch the aerials including the one on the back between the barrels, this does pivot. Made the drivers whole vision block and used dichrome foil to create the vision blocks, this was a right faff trying to get thin plasticard in the slots, had to recut and file as the moulding was bad on some.. Covers for barrels made (by the missus, big thanks to her.)
Paint is Nato green so it is after the black and green period, although you do still see some. I used stencils and masking and paint for some parts and decals for others.
When I get her up and running and the weather is better I will take some finished pictures.
