Tamiya 1/48 Type 10

Another of these dinky 1/48 kits.



Very quick assembly, including the link & length tracks. Main assemblies are only dry fitted



Nice surface details, not so nice thumb print



I lost the poly caps for the barrel so improvised



Black Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500



And some random Mr Color green that looked similar

Found some AK masking putty that I'd forgotten about



Then some "brown". This is the dregs from 4 different bottles of earthy colours and amazingly doesn't look too bad :smiling5:

A bit toy like at present I think but not for long hopefully.

That looks really good, as you said once weathered it will get rid of the 'toy like' appearance. Job well done.

I got the little guy done. He looks rough close up but passable at a reasonable distance, bearing in mind it's 1/48.

Don’t you just love how the Japanese use simple camouflage on their vehicles, and some of the most intricate outside of digital on their uniforms?

Haha, yes. No way was I going to try and replicate a real pattern so some random squiggles in similar colours had to suffice.

I agree with Stefan with the scale size.

To be able to paint that figure with such detail Andy is a credit mate , expect the same when you get the weathering done on the tank .
Even just painted it was faultless finish wise .

Thank you both, although it's pretty big compared to the scale some are working at. Magnifiers help a lot lol :nerd:

I've started getting dirty with a bit of mud. I love trying new (to me) techniques and this is a couple of different enamel mud effects, stippled & splattered with a brush, dusted and speckled with an airbrush, going back & forth to build up the layers.







Personally I think it's worked rather well for a tank that's done little more than exercises but would like to hear what you think.

I've still got a few days to kill before the truck GB starts so may well be doing more work in other areas.
