..... Bugger, one of my "surprise elements" of this build has been rumbled before I get anywhere near that stage of the build!! :dizzy: :tears-of-joy: ,yes Chris,I'm going to do just that mate .Also, while I'm giving away "secrets", I'm waiting for a metal barrel to arrive too, don't like the kit one:thumb2:.
That's cool about 131... and they sure did know how to name a Regiment way back in the day eh?!.

I watched 131’s rebuild when I was at Bovi. ABRO did a good job restoring it. None of its war damage could be repaired or replaced. It had to remain in its post war condition.

I'm joining this distinguished audience for the simple reason that Tiggers are wonderful things.

If the outers are steel, so are the inners. Your first clue is the shape of the wheel :thumb2:

Plenty of wheels there Mr Smiff, steel rims with internal rubber cushioning, they started that on the Tiger 1, because the weight made the rubber come away from the wheels with use.:thumb2:

And it saved rubber, which was in very short supply in Germany later in the war — the usual German name is gummisparendes Laufrad, “rubber-saving roadwheel”. They copied the idea from the initial type of wheel used on the Soviet KV tanks (which later went to all-steel wheels without any rubber at all).
