The work continues. I have been adding the bar armour. It would have been nice to have PE bar armour in the kit. I do have some brass strip but I honestly couldn't be bothered to try and replace the kit offerings. The only thing I have done is to spend some time cleaning the slats up.
One thing I will say that this one wide puppy when all the extra armour is added.

You're beginning to annoy me Scottie - what's wrong with remaking the bar armour - chicken? I think NOT ! - this is superb as always!

Bar armour... Too late now but you could have re-cycled the Eduard set for a Leopard 2A6M which is what the Canadians have done. The problem I find with these kits and others that include it as part of the build is that it is way too thick. I realise they have production limits and have to cater for those that cannot build etch brass, but perhaps as kit manufacturers today include all kinds of different add ons or interiors in both brass and aluminium, that cannot be seen or give you 650 different variations of one model, then the addition of a small amount of etch brass would not go amiss.
Like the latest Warrior that has come out, the slat on the kit looks like wooden slats for a garden fence....
Keep the build coming, excellent as always...

I agree mate I probably could have got that as an after market from the Leopard but didn't want to waste my money if it didn't fit. Given the tiny parts they can now mould I'm sure they can go a bit thinner on this sort of detail. but hey ho it is what it is. I do have a little bit of brass strip somewhere I might have a go at doing the bar armour on the top.

One thing I am finding really frustrating about this kit is the instructions. It tells you to add a part but the piece you need to add it to suddenly appears in the instructions as fitted but you haven't been told to fit it before. It also tells you to fit things that have to be changed later on, for example the rear towing hooks had to be removed later on so the correct part could be fitted. If the instructions said alternative part it would be easier. The kit also has dubious or no positive locations for parts.

Anyway rant over, I have been slowly continuing with the build.

Hull details, the light will be added after painting so it will be easier to detail as it has both clear and orange lenses.

The beacon light has been detailed with clamp and wing nut. The thin sections of plastic were replaced with wire just to give it a bit of strength.

Finally for this post the antenna base had the moulded spring removed and replaced with the spring base of an accupuncture needle. The needle itself will be glued into the spring later.

                        Details, details - just amazing.
I've read about tiny magnets being used on models but never seen it done. Looks a good idea. Daft question really but does the magnet work through plastic?

Hi Jim, thanks mate. The magnets I have are quite strong for their size but just to make sure I doubled them up. The hidden magnets are holding through 1mm plastic.

                              Missing part.....
Funnily enough I was having the same conversation with myself yesterday, looking for a part, found it and there is nothing on the instructions, but turn two pages on and there it is in place.....
I have some spare bar armour if you want it, enough for the top, it is what remains of some I did not use on my Challenger, just let me know.
