Wow! There's certainly a lot to that assembly.

And then imagine it was probably better than inside British heavy tanks of the time :smiling3: Here at least the engines are out in front of the crew, even if there wasn’t a firewall. In the heavy tanks, the engine stood in the middle of the crew compartment, out in the open — and on the first models it didn’t even have an exhaust pipe!Comment

Wearing thick leather clothes against accidental burns and bullet splash didn’t help there either, of course.
BTW, Mike, does it include the rear stowage bins and/or the canvas track covers?Comment

I hadn’t expected the track covers, except maybe as etched parts, but not including the bins seems a bit of a major omission. They’re not on absolutely all Whippets photographed in service, but were common enough that I’d expect them to be in the kit. Oh, wellComment

I've completed the main parts now and primed them. I've just got to decide on the colour now as I've seen so many interpretations of the Green/Brown colour used for this and other WW1 tanks.
I've primed with a rattle can but will be brush painting as I don't have an Airbrush.
I've also removed the exhausts, which I'd previously added, for now so I can work on them separately.
Most of the detail of the rollers will be hidden under the tracks when they're added to the model.

Chair pulled up I have built a couple of meng kits and found them pretty good. Your doing a great job of this one.Comment

Finally got a bit of bench time and made some progress. I gave a single brush coat of Olive drab to the various components and then attached them. Once this had dried fully, I'll do more brush painting of the same colour and then probably apply a light brown wash or something like that.
I've also started on the tracks. So far so good they're cleaning up and clicking together nicely. I have 68 per track so it is going to be slow probably quite a dull task, but the tank needs its tracks.

A bit more colour added. Three brush coats in total of olive drab, then a bit of colour to the guns then started the Allied markings. I need to let the white cure before I mask up for the red coat.
It's a slow build, mainly because I don't have alot of bench time at the moment, but it's a very enjoyable one.
