Tidying up the stash the other week and came across this lovely looking little Comet and thought I had to get this built!

I don’t remember buying it and was actually looking for a 1/72 Centurion.
Found a couple of other Vespid kits in the attic I’d forgotten about that got my interest …looks like I’m going to be busy for the foreseeable :smiling4:

Back to the Comet, here’s what you get in the box….

I've not heard of Vespid Models. It does look a nice kit though. It will be interesting to see how it goes together.

Last weekend I sat and cut out/cleaned up the main parts. I thought it was only the Germans that like a lot of wheels :surprised:

Glued wheels and sprockets on last night.

Added D shackles and telphone/first aid box. The smoke dischargers where moulded on and have PE parts to add but I’ll do them just before paint.
I spy a big old seem on the leaf spring mount for the tow hook :surprised:

Really impressed with the quality of the track in this scale, they went round and joined perfectly well done Vespid,

I’ve built Vespid kit before and was so impressed I brought a few more.

Si, when I saw the first word and clicked I thought you were building a Vespa...lo and behold it's got a 17 pounder in front.

                    Cheers,
                    Wabble

                      Morning Si,
Very nice build mate, 1/72nd scale is above my pay grade, they have sure moved on in detail since the last time I saw one, tracks look spot on .

Just seen this one Si, it looks like a great detailed kit for 1/72. A cracking start too. Just pulled up my chair at the back with me being a little late.

Great to have you along guys. Being 1 /72 it’ll be quick if I can find some bench time

I picked up some 3D printed figures without actually seeing them and it turns out they are pretty good for 1:72.
They are from Peddinhaus and have some good detail including the straps on the binoculars, pockets on the trousers….fingers!

Work on the Comet continued and the majority of the bigger parts are all on leaving just the little fiddly bits and photoetch.
The turret hatch will need cutting in half so commander can stick out.
Commander has had base colours on and I’ll break out the wet pallet and see if my eyesight is up to picking up the details !
