Well have progressed some but haven't updated so here it is in order .... don't get too bored

Got the wheels, suspension and frames put together and splashed a basecoat and first stage weathering on them, added the wheel assemblies to the lower hull and wacked the tracks on after a pre weather and paint

Exhaust and heat shield painted and rusted up suitably

added all the hatches and side louvres to the hull

Got the turret together, shaved the tabs off and added some bent wire to simulate the tie-downs better (and be useable for later in the build)

Got the mini bunsen out and added some dents and creases to the hull for a bit of battle damage.

added some decals and used a paint pen to add name and numbers for that hand-painted look..... Starting to look like a tank now.

Next up is all the little extras like tools, lights and everything else i can scratch buld before starting on the figures and little diorama.

Hi. I'm just watching suspension and rollers system. It's a completely different invention to others European WW2 tanks. Keep going. I like this machine. Regards. Bart.

                Thanks for the comments chaps.

Bart ... certainly is quite different from the "rocker" type suspension i've built on other AFVs

Anyways, this is where i'm at now ... some times life gets in the way and a couple of trips to the vets and starting the redecorating of the bathroom halted progress for a while.

Got some "tie-down hooks/bars" added to the hull, these were welded on in the field to assist in carrying equipment. also added a bit of extra equipment (basically tissue paper "canvas rolls" and some spades and field tools)

Got a figure painted up and in situ, got some other crew to do and then add some tank-riders to finish it all off.

Wasn't happy with the towing cable so cut off the ends and drilled them out to accept some picture wire cable, picture shows before and after.

There's another thread about scale differences, this is the difference between the two sets of tamiya figures in this kit ... as Richard (bunkerbarge) says, it'll make for a more natural scene as there'll be a difference in the figures as there would be in real life.

thanks for the supporting comments throughout guys.

well after a week or so of losing a long term family pet, our Timneh Grey Parrot (sad times) .... having to take the big white fur ball (pictured in avatar) to the vets for his yearly MOT which he hates (it took four of us to hold him down to trim his claws ... git!!).... having the grandson with scarlet fever, then suffering a gastral issue (he's in hospital on a drip as i type, worrying!!) and in between all this redecorating the bathroom ... my wallpapering skills are reminiscent of a scene from abbot and costello or laurel and hardy ....... i finally finished this build.

                          Here it is ...
