    trumpeter stryker m1135

I haven't had a model for 3 days now and couldn't stand it no longer.

so I have just been to emodels and brought the stryker.

this looks a value for money kit for sure.

24 quid for a trumpeter kit with over 500 parts rubber tyres pe parts and of course trumpeter quality.

I must say the last three models I recently built. a 48 scale stuka a 32 scale junkers bomber and a 32 scale euro copter all by revel have all been poor quality poor fitting kits and as a result they were a little rushed. but having said that I am not a professional modeller and these have been good for practice as they were so cheap. and I found the decals better quality than some of the more expencive kits.

I might embarrass myself and put a few pics on lol.

Im thinking I will try and take my time and get a better more professional finished product and I think I would like to make a small dio to mount it.

but I don't have much idea of how to do it or what scene to set?

I was hoping to buy some more pe detail parts at the same time but theyhad got none in stock.

    mail order only... poo.

I think I best do some research now on how to weather it properly and maybe learn how to do a little battle damage

I may post some pics during this build.

if I can take my time with it. im like a kid with a new toy every time I get a new kit then end up rushing it to get on with the next one.

Well Steve. Now you have started a build thread, so now you will have to show us the build.

In a way this alone is a help in slowing you down. Some times.

Either you take your time, stopping to take the pictures and write a bit of text. This also makes you take a bit more care, with each stage AND if you hit a bump you can ask for help...

On the other hand you bang on and have a finished kit and have not taken any photos.... Ops-

goin take me time with this one and try get it right.

im thinking I need a few accessories to complete. but I must think Iraq. sand and dry looking buildings?

but I like the dodgy street idea with a foot patrol walking behing the stryker looking to clear buildings and collect refugees maybe?

any ideas on a dio for the us stryker m1135 are welcome.

I brought the kit cuz I like to make stuff but really don't know how to set it off.

                  I like making model kits.

Im very unsure if I like making soldiers of 35 scale.

                  god there small.

I have had very limited time for a sit down since I brought these.

I had an hour maybe this evening.

so I thought to start the soldiers first.

                  First mistake.

when I got up this morning I knew I was going to have an hour this evening.

so I took all the soldier bits from the sprues and put them individual piles in preparation.

                  first bloke.

had 2 left feet? that starts you wondering if you have mixed anything up.

Im not sure what happened but 2 soldiers have 2 left feet.

one hand just completely went missing? im down to 3 soldiers.

im not sure if the kit they have on is correct ?

the phote etch head sets they are wearing were I nightmare.

the hands are impossible to get right?

next time I do (if I ever do) soldiers of this scale I will deffo take one piece of the sprue at a time.

I did enjoy doing a 9th (I think) scale german Luftwaffe ace in oils. and may do the hole collection

                  Now as I was saying

I feel like I want to rush these scale bods to get on with the main event. the stryker.

but I realise these are part of this and must slow down and get them as good as my ability allows

there are some very small parts in this kit. but I am taking my time and its coming on lovely. what a good kit and what detail.

I am thinking I may have to do one or two different versions of the stryker and next time it will be with full pe kit.

over a week later most of it is together.570 parts takes some time.

now I must look at it finely for mistakes while im researching weathering.

I am a subscriber to genesis model builds. and watchin him do the challenger tank

Nice work so far, lots of detail and that 20mm bush master cannon has some lovely detail too.

This is looking good, like the look of this a beefy build.
