This is my latest Work In Progress, for a group build this coming June in my home country. The GB is to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of D-Day.

The kit is excellent ... the only putty needed was for the exhaust assembly. Elsewhere, everything fits nicely.

The base coat sprayed ...

Some tools n accessories for the tank ...

New experiment ... talcum powder as mud ...

Put a few drop of white glue on the surface, spread it thinly using plain water. Then "sprinkle" the talcum powder. I used a dishwasher sponge to create texture. Good thing about using talcum powder + white glue ... if you overdo it or anything goes wrong, it is easily removed.

Hope to progress further during the weekend.

It's looking good Ryan, I'm always tempted to do something very late war in just red oxide primer!

As an alternative to talc, try baking soda - I've used both & the baking soda has a finer texture which works well. Also it's less absorbent than talc.

A lil bit of update ....

First layer of sand color ... and some chipping ..

Added some white to the sand yellow....2nd layer of paint ... at the same time, preparing the tracks

Some whites can still be seen, but it will all go be gone during the weathering process...

here comes another round of update...

tracks on...

Rear view, some chipping effects

some areas are over-chipped ... but no worries I guess, because yet to come is the green "spider web" camo ... It should cover some of the chipped areas, and by then, the chippings would just be OK.

Forgot to take some pictures right before chipping. I had actually done some modulation effect on the model; which after the chipping, its not that prominent anymore.

Anyway, next update will come soon ....

Nice work Ryan. I think you have weathered it just right with regards to the chipping effects.
