No figures, and the vehicle body has been assembled - I'm guessing it was part of an ebay auction, that I looked in the box & consigned to the unvisited region of my stash!! It has some of the worst rubber/vinyl tracks that I have seen for some time :confounded:

      Hi Dave
It may have cost more than you like to pay but there's a lot of plastic for the money. Looks nice but time will tell when you start building.
I didn't know ICM did paints.

        Jim,
ICM have been releasing sets for specific models, like the 1/48 Cobra & 1/35 G7017 US Truck. John has the Marder & the Cobra sets in stock at £6.60 for 5 x 12ml paints & a matt varnish - They are for brush painting, pointing out you have to thin them for a/b. I haven't tried them yet & this model will be the test, for both brush & airbrush.
I'm absolutely sure I wouldn't have paid that much for the model - but what I did pay is lost in the past!

Off we go! The gloss varnish is drying on my Beriev, so I made a start on this - I knocked up the Ammo Trailer in a short time.

Fit was perfect, and today, even the PE & CA behaved!
I might just use this as a test bed for the ICM paints - just to see how they spray, before moving onto the really complex bits. If it doesn't work out, it's only a simple part to repaint..................

That's one heck of a piano hinge. Clean & tight assembly overall.

The trailer primed & prepared for the basecoat. I didn't think that the ICM 'Middle Stone' was going to look right

I mixed the paint about 2:1 water/paint - a little too much water perhaps. It sprayed very nicely - it has a different smell to all other acrylics - almost an almond scent! It doesn't seem to dry very quickly ( maybe because of too much water? ). It does have a substantial colour change as it dries - It looked too light to start, but darkened as it dried. I'm going to give the green & brown a try, with my 0.2mm nozzle a/b to do the camo pattern freehand.

                  Coming on nicely Dave.

An almond smell sounds quite nice compared to some of the odours we have to put up with.

I'm going to give it an overall spray with the ICM matt varnish, to see if there is any colour change. All in all, quite happy, although the 'Saddle Brown' could have done with a little less water!

No complaints from me either Dave.

Aside from maybe bring a bit too thin, it seems to be spraying nicely. Did you have any problems with it e.g excessive dry tip or the like?

No, I was spraying at a very low pressure with a 0.2mm nozzle, as well - I reckon the thinness is due to me overdiluting - these paints are totally new to me, and will take a bit of getting used to. I did the ammo trailer first to see what problems I may have. The answer is - less water!

That is very good at 0.2mm and low pressure. What consistency is the paint like in the bottle? Vallejo Model Air-ish....???

                                Andrew,
the ICM paint is more the consistency of Model Color, as it says on the side of the bottle ( I had to get my magnifying glass out to read ), it's brush paint consistency - it says dilute 40-60% for airbrush, and apply over a primer. I used pure Gloucestershire tapwater, without any problems
