    'Leopold' Railway Gun

    Hi all.

I think this the right place to post this.

If you haven't built one of these, this is what two weekends and 142 parts gets you!

I've included the un-started main plate for the second truck unit as a comparison. What I have done doesn't come close to completing the underside.

Will post some progress pics in a few weeks.

If anyone else has built one of these then any advice would be gratefully received.

Better known as 'Anzio Express' Krupp K5 railway gun-massive 71ft long barrel. Looking good there should be a super build when done, are you putting it on a dio base?

Hi Fuma i've built the trumpeter leopold in 1/35 a while ago, and scratch built a turn table for it. It is a very impressive beastie when put together, quite big too, will be following with interest cant wait to see what you do with it keep up the ood work.

          Hi all.

A few update pics. Including the box art for John. :P

Pound coin is for a sense of scale. Still only one of the track units to show and still not complete!!

Scott, this is the same one as you've already built, any pointers? Apart from not to drop the smaller parts!! Done that a few times!!

Si, I will be putting a dio together not quite sure what yet.

Another update in a few weeks.

                  Hey all.

Can I get some feedback (good and bad) on the deck for the ammo store. I'm not sure about it?..... On the home stretch for this bit now. Think its taken around 35 hours to get this far. 30 of those hours have probably been spent crawling around on the floor trying to the little piece I've dropped, again!!!

Why is it the smallest, tiny little part is always the one to fall on the floor..... Grrrrrr!!!!! :P

Hi Fuma, I think the decking looks okay, you could add a slight wash to represent slight wear but I think it works well as it is.

                      Looking great so far.

The decking looks great. Weathered just enough I think.
