    Airfix WW1 type B bus

Wanted to do something from ww1 and this is all they had in the shop. Now I don't know about anyone else but I'm often put off from Airfix kits and a big part of that is the bad pictures of the completed models they put on the back. Luckily this model has turned out to be a nice treat.

The kit provides some odd cardboard cut outs for the wood but I've replaced this with balsa wood

I've often been tempted by this but been put off because it's an old, old Airfix kit. What's the build and fit like? Your build looks beautifully clean and tidy, but if it's taken months of fettling to get it to look that good, I'll give it a miss!

Looks very good so far . Nice use of the balsa wood, it looks much better than the kit load.

The build and fit wasn't to bad, though the top deck is still separate at this stage so guess the real test will be when I try to join the top deck with the lower.

I like the look of what you've done so far, and great use of the balsa. Looking forward to more updates.

So now it's built and undercoated time for more research, turns out when the army took the buses they conscripted the drivers at the same time.

Beats me how any of those old trucks got anywhere with those skinny wheels and spindly axles!

Okay so back from a week skiing and now looking at painting the interior from what I can find it looks as though the interior stayed the original colours

So finnaly managed to get the inside painted. Added the hand rail and seat rails with some brass wire.
