      Bobby,
There is a serious amount of detail in this kit unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get some of it done last night.

        Marty,
I've done the HB GMC tanker, and the GMC 40mm bofors carrier - both using the same chassis'. Nice detail, no construction problems, just as long as you keep everything square ( thus get all the wheels touching the ground ).

I seem to remember the only problem I had was with the Tanker windows - a very tight fit! I picked these up, as is my normal practice, at a bargain price

I think I'm gonna go for the tanker next if i can find one at a bargain price.
Your trucks do look good though mate,
          Thanks for showing them.

            Marty,
the tanker seems to go for ยฃ35 at the moment - the GMC Bofors at about a tenner less. I have a wish list, but with a maximum price against each one ( in my mind! ), daily, I browse the 'net, looking for that discount. I have a lot of patience, indeed getting a model at a bargain price is part of my enjoyment. I hasten to say, I'm a builder, not a collector!

                Martyn,
I very rarely look on e-bay these days - it's changed so much, since I used to use it, become more commercial ( and people are more aware of the value of stuff! ). I had a dispute with PayPal, and now I won't deal with them. I just have a bookmark list of retail outlets, and visit them regularly. I do use Far East sellers, but having been bitten by HM Customs for VAT ( AND been charged ยฃ5 for the privilege by Royal Mail ) only for small items. Amazon still remains a good starting point. A few sites have 'damaged box' sections, where it's always worth a look.....................
Patience is the main factor, you won't get the latest release, but I'm a maker, not a brownie point collector! :tongue-out3:

This particular version was used primarily as a prime mover, hence the two spare tires. Not often seen used, but these could be mounted on the driven front axle to improve off road performance. The winch was a light one, so probably half the diameter of a tank's tow cable. PaulE

Where do you find this information out. When I have googled it I have pictures of the truck with the two extra wheels on the front axle but I didn't realise it was because it was used as a primary mover.

I've been reading & listening to military stuff for over 60 years, so I have all sorts of arcane info rattling around in my head. Both the big Mack & Corbit 6x6s also had this feature as they were also used as arty & engineer prime movers respectively. Your version pulled 105s mostly & later 3" AT guns I think. The 1.5 ton weapons carriers were limited to 57mm AT guns I believe. Photos show they also added deuce'n'ahalf rear tires to the front axle while using the front winch w/an A frame to lift heavy things when not having the two spare tire feature of the prime movers. Glad you survived the course , you need to talk to Allen Dewire about quads .
