Thanks John your always welcome mate. I'm just waiting for my little one to go for a nap so I can do some more. The driveline parts were a bit of a pain to be honest but it's not looking to bad now thank God.
Hi Marty
Good steady progress. It does look a nice kit. I asked about the tyres because I personally hate those rubber ones. They won't paint. Plastic is far nicer and these look OK.
Jim
Build looks very clean. Do they tell you what the two levers on the far right are for? I see transmission gear selector, hand brake & transfer case selector, but don't know what the last two are. You might want to round the tire profiles as these are too square. Ruts/rocks while offroading would tear the steering wheel out of your hands. That's why the real ones are shaped like a doughnut. Also you may want to investigate some braided wire instead of thread for the winch. Just some observations that may help. PaulE
Thanks for the observations especially about the tyres. It doesn't tell you anything about the levers so I will have to Google that. There is not a great deal of progress at the moment as I am away on a course. I will certainly look into the braided wire Amy ideas what diameter I would need.
Watch those quads. They'll wreck your shoulders if you're not careful. Don't know where my head was at, but the two on the right must be winch controls. PaulE
Good morning,
Well I didn't kill myself on the quad course and passed I just have the instructor course to do now. I will try and tackle some of the points like the tyres and the winch rope. I will try and post some progress later this evening. Thanks for all the comments they are really helpful.
