I would like to draw a line under this now but Ron has opened a new topic "to sell or not to sell?" in which we can hopefully have an interesting discussion on the ups and downs on selling etc.Comment

Okay then mate lets get this thread back on track.
Page 13 was the last time I commented and what a lot of magical work I have missed out on. The frame work for the lean to was awesome. To add the extra detail of the dip in the roof is sublime. The slats reminded me of an episode of the Waltons when they used to do their saw milling out in the shed.
Some terrific attention to detail with the tool rack and the tools themselves. You could keep on going and going adding details and other tools but I feel you have got it just right.
The wood stack is a wonderful piece of imagination. The logs are so realistic that I assume they are twigs from the garden?? Its great the way you have broken up the courtyard with various grasses and gravels. It adds real depth and class to the dio.
Then we come onto my favourite part - the axe and axe mans block. I have never seen anything like that before. The flowers and foliage are a wonderful touch.
Keep on tinkering and having fun my friend. Its already a masterpiece and can only get better.Comment

Steve,
Wow I am seriously blown away with your comments and I'm really glad you like it so far. And your right the logs are some twigs cut up from the garden. The Axe and block is so simple but I'm glad you like it. Again another piece of twig cut with a hobby saw and the surface "chopped" with a hobby knife then an old axe from the spares box with the blade cut at an angle and glued on to give the impression its stuck in the wood.Comment

Not a lot to show today so wont bore you with any pictures. I have spent the day putting together or the pots and containers. I have also assembled 5 figures so far they are a mixture or Tamyia, Mini Art and Stalingrad. The only other thing I have done is darkened the trunk on the tree and given the leaves a light coat of various greens as the tree was to pale and unnatural.
Thanks for following

Scottie,
Well done on the offer by the way.
But most importantly I was wondering if the axe and block were resin or not. I love it the detail is second to none mate.

Marty,
No the axe and block is a piece of twig cut off and an old axe from the spares box. Many thanks for the kind comments.Comment

I'm one of the ones who was away during your 'low period' and then the up side of this roller coaster! Wonderful work Paul!! I'm really enjoying this!
I'm a professional architectural modelmaker, but I do this stuff for the pleasure of it. Although I work for Tommy's War occasionally, I don't do it often and try to retain the pleasure side of it. Any manual work doesn't reap great rewards financially (even my day job). Continue to have fun and we'll join you in your pleasure!
Now we must stay on topic! Back to Paul's masterpiece......

Apart from a few final items to be added and of course the figures, this is pretty much done now. Given the weather has improved I took the opportunity of taking some pictures outside. One question I have do you guys use pictures as backdrops and if so where do you get them?
The limber has been placed in the lean to, and the cooking utensils and containers placed around the outside. I made a handle for the kit supplied lamp and hung it on a nail ready for when it gets dark.
Any suggestions or comments welcomed as always
