Thanks JR. Since the van doors are operational, it's the least I could do. I thought about a figure seated while peeling potatoes...might be a bit much.

Well it would be great, but at that scale is it feasible ? I'd say do it if you can.

Hi Rick brilliant scratch building and at that scale is just beyond me :thumb2:.
            Very well done indeed.

Thanks Paul, just wouldn't have been right without the crapintheback. Hi Pete, Yes there is precious little available in the way of small detail parts in 1-87. Jim, thanks for dropping by and commenting. There might be one more update before this goes to paint. JR, I'm looking for a suitable figure, if I locate one there will be a potato peeler. What army could get along without one. Cheers, Rick H.

Thanks Steve, I'm glad you like it. Getting close to the wet stuff, I'll do a gray base coat and then spotty white winter camo to reflect a late winter early spring worn effect. I have only done this once before so bear with me. Cheers, Rick H.

Hello, This will probably be the last update before paint. Spent some time racking my brain on a functional door latch and came up with the following. Needs a bit of refining before I splash on some color. Rick H.Click image for larger version

That was the easy part Lee. Cut some coffee stir sticks to length, split them real small, glued them into a stack and stained them.
No wood burning stove should be without them:smiling5: LOL .

ps. I don't want to talk about the soup ladle and the chopping knife ugh!

I really didn’t want to talk about fire wood with John in the front row
