Hi Paul.
Had a catch up, has your stamp of quality modelling all over it.
How did you coax those pieces of wire to stay in shape before you glued them down ?

Thank you John. The wire is just copper wire so it is formed into shape and pretty much stays where it is put.

Love the screw heads on the steps - very nice detail :thumb2:

Thanks Simon I just noticed on the picture I have knocked one off so it will need replacing.

Not a great deal to show but it was small and fiddly today. Firstly the brace between the bulkhead and the radiator was made from copper wire, the insulation from some fine wire and etch from the spares box.

Hopefully these pictures are a bit better and you will see the other detail that I mentioned earlier a bit easier.


Next some work on the engine covers. The kit has them both closed which seems pointless when they include an engine. The first thing was to thin the open ones right down, Then I had to scrape back the louvres as they were moulded solid. I did try and burnish one from thin pewter but I wasn't happy with the out come. Then a hinge was added using fine wire and the hinge sections were cut in the insulation. I still have some work to do on them but it needed to dry.



I have also started on the cargo bed and will post some pictures later.
