Scottie, you may notice in many photos of cargo Protze, cargo 33s & high side cargo Opels, boards for anti-ditching attached to the cargo bed sides. These are larger than those in your model and not always present. Don't know why some 1500s have them & some not. I don't profess to understand fully the Teutonic design methods of that period:smiling2:.
It went pretty much as follows:โ
German Army: โWe need <vehicle type>.โ
Manufacturer 1: โHere, have this.โ
Manufacturer 2: โHere, have this.โ
Manufacturer 3: โHere, have this.โ
German Army: โThanks, weโll take them all!โ
This lead to great convenience, like not being able to push stuck trucks out of the Russian mud because their bumpers were all at different heights.
Just working on the wings
Working on it mate.

True, but the German army in the Second World War was one of the worst offenders of all. Of course, given how the National Socialists ran the country, that is not overly surprising.Comment
