    IBG Scammel pioneer

Hi all, as I have a couple of builds that should be in completed sections this coming week I have made a start on the Scammel, I'll be between this and my group build project.
17 sprues ,a bag of plastic tyres and some etch,so far the instructions seem straight forward.
Four versions, German captured Africa korps,
    Red army ,eastern front .
REME of 7th armoured ,Normandy or 6th south African armoured, Egypt.haven't decided which I'm going for yet.
Made a start with the engine and fuel tank and gone together in no time.Click image for larger version

I'll follow Mark I used to drive the later model in the R.E.M.E. Best off road vehicle there was.

Hi John, my dad had a Leyland guy recovery truck when I was a kid and a Bedford tk but the Scammel does look like a beast.

The Leyland Martain was another truck we had in Germany. The Scammel was a beast alright, pull a 434 tracked with out even knowing you were towing it.

12 Speed box, low, intermediate and high. The crane was suburb .Much warmer in the winter as it had a heater !

That's looking good Mark, that front suspension gave fantastic off road capabilities with it's transverse design.

How did the chassis go in building ? I struggle with keeping the chassis square :smiling3:
Like the tool storage bin, very neat .:thumb2:

Cheers John, chassis wasn't to tricky, I let it dry with some weight on top to keep it square, still got quite a bit to add and the axles are not glued yet.

                          Hi Tim
Yes some thought has been put into the sprue layouts and how parts are attached, a well designed and moulded kit, I'm impressed so far.
