As Jakko, is saying very good advice I always use a jig to keep the tracks straight, very easy to make up one,
good luck with them and by the time you sit there and complain about them you have them done,

Hi Dan I dont usualy work with this large scale stuff and can't quite see from the photo but would it not be possible to glue the blocks to the links whilst links still fixed to the sprue there only seems to be two small attachment gates to each link ,I'd nick through them with the tip of a scaple blade should come away clean enough to not even worry about any clean up. Just a thought. Dave

Got agree with that. Needed 90ish for each side of my Pz II, doing then in batches of 10 seemed to break it up a bit and I never lost count in between sessions as long as I did 10 at a time!

Hi Dave. You're right, or at least to a degree. The blocks hold the links together so I can't glue them all on but I could leave one of each pair of links on the sprue to reduce fiddliness. Thanks for that.

                    Hi Dan
Tracks, individual links - not the most exciting part of the hobby. It's a great feeling when it's done.

A bit like banging your head against a wall, nice when it stops ?

In all fairness I'm not that upset about doing them. As has been said, once you've got a bit of a routine going it's ok.

Evening. It's come to my attention that certain forum members (namely me), may have been moaning about individual track links.

I would like to officially withdraw all and any negative statements I may have made on the subject.

Having completed one track ( no, it hasn't taken me 10 days. I've had no bench time at all) I've found it totally therapeutic.

They look so much better than the moulded ones and are a joy to handle. They remind me of worry/ rosary beads.

Anyway. Raining tomorrow, so apart from the Mrs taking me for a drive in her new car, it'll be all hands on track.

Thank you for your kind interest in this matter and here's hoping for some progress this week.

And it's a new South Cornwall Regional all comers record for building one 47 link Tamiya FAMO track at 1 hour & 19 minutes.
