Work progresses on the crane mounting, Man - this is going to be some battered wrecker! Some quite bizarre omissions - the under-body toolboxes have no backing plate and the rear mounted toolboxes are 'curiously' divided for example! This is a relatively big 'beasty' - I've included a figure for scale. I've decided this build isn't worth investing in resin wheels - I'll build it and bin it once I'm bored with it

I really like the dirty windows and the scuffed/damaged end of the plank underneath the spare wheel Steve. I feel your pain about this kit. Ive been building it a bit, become weary of it, take a week off to dabble with a couple long-term dio's, then come back to it. This kit has not been a delight for me, either. I'm planning on completing mine but it's been more work than fun for me. I think it's a good kit with nice detail but definitely for the modeler who craves challenge ! Not so much me...

Despite the problems, this is looking pretty good to me. It is showing the battered appearance of a workhorse, great stuff.

I couldn't agree more Ron - I think this would become a shelf queen if it wasn't for the fact I've started to show 'progress' on the forum!

I'd like to see Scottie take a shot at this particular subject.. i think he's masochistic for detail enough to pull the sword from the stone and put this baby to bed, lol

Once again Gents - thanks for your positivity! The Dustbin Monster will go hungry for at least another week or so!

Shit happens! SWMBO has sorted out my crap! Very little progress due to work. Thanks to Kate for getting me through this.
Here is the latest (minimal) progress....

Paintwork looks excellent to me Steve. Despite the issues this is looking really good.

What, the scary bit ... ? Glad it's you looking forward to it mate - I'm hoping it's going to go together with sufficient ease that I don't need to book a one-way visit to Beachy Head :smiling:

I really like how it's looking Steve.
Well done for not binning it, from my point of view it's heading towards a spectacular finale.
/ one that doesn't involve you driving all the way to Eastbourne...

At my age I may be afraid of heights Dan! The results of misjudging the available airspace still lingers in my aches and pains! :face-with-head-bandage:

As someone who finds it hard enough to get on a plane at the best of times, (let alone throw myself out of a perfectly good one) I am honour bound to quote an RAF mate who told me " It's not the height that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end".

I'm sure finishing the kit would be preferable.....
