GMC CCKW 353 "LeRoi" Truck w/Compressor

My attempt at the 1/87 scale Truck w/Compressor by Trident in white metal.
These are typical Trident instructions. Resin tires/wheels are from spares box as easier to use than supplied metal ones w/o axle holes. Picture also reveals hours of cleanup, straightening, & some polishing for first pass dry fit of major assemblies. Scales much better than adp-Models offering.

Saw this in the latest acquisitions thread. Looks like you've got it together ok. Resin wheels are a good call. I can imagine the time invested in this so far.

Drilling out the differentials for steel axles & mounting the suspensions so all touch the ground equally is a chore all who muck about w/metal kits are familiar.

I find that to be the case in most of the resin kits I've had to deal with. Following with interest. Curious to learn more about the adp shortcomings, as I have had excellent results with them so far. Keep it coming, looks like a nice clean assembly from this angle. :thumb2:

I probably overstated the shortcomings of adp-Models' CCW as it scales out slightly small and it doesn't represent the LeRoi version compressor truck. You won't notice it till you put them in a group of other manufacturers' (ROCO, Trident, Heiser, Miltary Scale, etc.)1/87 scale CCWs.

How are you employing this one once it's finished?

I'm using the adp compressor truck on the Quarry dio so the Trident one will go with an Engineer Co. HQ section & as a exemplar for updates to the scratched ones.

One step closer. First coat on dry fit.

Blimy Paul looks like you've had to wrestle this one to the ground ,well done you only get back what you put in looking forward to it getting another coat of paint. Dave

Decals & touch up to go. I really liked this kit.

For a metal kit, it has clean and crisp detail.....better than I expected. Looking forward to the finish up on this one Paul. :thumb2:

Progress. Needs jerry cans & some touch up to go.
