    peterairfix's monty's humber

    I just got this one today it's a reissue it's change from my normal stuff so here's what's in the box and i have made a start,so i see what i can make of it.

    it gives a choice of top up or down i will be doing top down.

        I have made a start on this kit i've put the sump and steering gear but it's still to be painted.more to followsoon.

          I have finished the underside and have got the wheels and seats fitted and mr monty has been started.

            Nice so far but I have to say monty at the moment looks more like John travolta from his night fever days lol

              This looks a nice model Peter & going very well.

              Not sure if they give the drivers name but Monty had on his special observers staff a chap called Poston essentially an observer but drove for Monty. He was much to Monty's sadness killed a few days form the end of the war. He normally wore a dark blue or black berry.

              The observers went off & made visits to the various parts of the army & reported back to Montgomery every evening the state of play.

                I have now attached the body work and finished monty figures are not my strong point so i hope he's ok and thanks for the info there always nice to have some back ground on what i am building.

                            Super work Peter, both figures look great and the car is sharp. Well done. For some reason I thought of Dad's Army when I saw the finished product, I can imagine Captain Mainwering in the back seat of that Humber.

                              Very nice build 5 stars from me, am I right in thinking the car is at Hendon been restored? I'm sure I saw it when I visited in March.
