Lee Drennen’s 1/12 Scale Amish Grain Buggy Craftsman’s Kit

The other day I found my old Amish Craftman Kit’s so I decided to build one. I will post the first build later. This second one is being built from some of the scraps from my first one. As kid we would drive to Iowa where my Grandmother lived a few miles from the Missouri line inside of Iowa. She lived in Amish country and I was so fascinated at all the buggies I would see visiting her. This one I’m calling it a “Grain Buggy” due to the fact it has flared sides this is what I have so far. I’m also building it with my “lap bench” I call it in the living room relaxing and enjoying the company of my oldest Daughter and wife as they watch Movies as I build on these kits

          Hi Lee
What a fine idea. The Amish have a fascinating take on life. Looks like you're off to a good start.

Thank you Guys for stopping by and the complements this has been one fun build and like Rick motivation builder. I worked on the front axle yesterday morning where it would steer before and went out and enjoyed the Beautiful day we had.

I think Henry Ford must have been Amish. "Paint it any color you like, as long as it's black". :smiling2: ! That's a fine looking pair of "buggys" Lee. Will there be 1/12 scale quarter horses to get them from A to B ? Rick H.

Rick. Yes I have that I just painted and ready to go I will have a post up soon. The kit was made in the early 60s very shallow details I did my best with what I had
