So - a trip to Sainsburys, returned with a packet of Reisen chocs. Ate the sweets kept the wrappers. SWMBO was throwing out our old scales, well tried too. I hung onto the weights - well you never know when you’ll need one!!!!

I’ve only been doing this for 18 months or so and I now have drawers full of ‘stuff’ I think may be useful. Sponge, wire, plastic tubing, clamps, clothes pegs, wedges of wood. Now I can’t throw anything away without having a good hard think about alternate uses!!!
    ... I fail to understand your problem ... ?

I’m with you on this one Doug.

I was just about to go for a walk when I noticed next door had left some strips of scrap lead which was left over from some roofing work next to their recycling bin.
Ideal for nose weight to prevent tail sitting I thought so it was swiftly “recycled” into my scraps draw ?

        Geoff.

Ive just made use of another valuable tool that id forgot to mention

          A small but bright torch

When that tiny part goes ping (in my immediate case, a bf109 instrument panel ? ) and you need to find it before the carpet monster does you get down there with a torch and go CSI ?

Either that or give your man cave a laminate floor which helps but just brings a different but equally sneeky breed of carpet monster

          Per Ardua

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

I use my cellphone torch. Have spent many hours under the desk looking for pitot tubes, antennae etc. I laid laminated floor boards in my shed, but invariably there are small bits of plastic etc from the bench that tend to mask the missing part.
        Working...
