My new modelling station and kit.

well, I've only been at this modelling lark since end of Aug, but as its going to be my hobby now, my brother sorted me out a decent work surface in the garage, with heating, great lighting and wheelchair friendly!

However, it was a mess, as I only had an old fishing box with loads of Humbrol enamel tins in it. I had got into the acrylic side, and now happily mix enamel bits with acrylic bits. Although I airbrush enamel only in paint. So I have my compressor set up underneath, with a tee piece, and a ball valve, and two airbrushes connected, one with .5 needle, side load, and a .2 top load. Then today, John at the shop kindly sent me my order, I finally got my Tamiya pot holder, and it's made it so much neater, and easier too. An old broken cup is my brush pot, and I've got my airbrush cleaning station on the left.

The enamels are still in the tackle box, with all my spare bits, and spare decals.

It's getting there, I might collar him to extend the bench and have a bespoke airbrush area, although that means I'll need to move around, not easy in a wheelchair!

Also got the cupboard above with all the odd bits in, still got the Vallejo paints, thinners, weathering stuff on the bench, but certainly more room and more light! Especially as I was working on an over-bed table!!

Anyway, I'm happy, and gives me more ability to learn....

Now, how do I get a big screen tv out there?

Thanks Pollux, probably a lot smaller than some of you are all us d to, but bear in mind, I'm not as mobile, so everything needs to be fairly close.

I also found a great use for all those crappy CDs I was going to throw away! They make great paint palletes!!

Nice work area. Kind of nice to have a dedicated area to work, isn't it? And my area is pretty small as well... smaller that yours as a matter of fact, but I kind of like the cozy feeling and having everything close at hand.

Of course, when I finally decide to get a 1/32 scale Mosquito I may change my tune...

Wow Jim, that's a small, build area, as small as the table I was using.

Perhaps I should add that using the wheelchair, I need to have a space I can roll my legs under, which does dictate the area somewhat,

I suppose it's horses for courses, what the individual gets on with, obviously Jim, you can create some awesome builds in your area, whereas I do get frustrated in cramped work surfaces.

Thanks, but strangely, I don't drink! I never have and have a wierd desire to vomit at the taste of beers and lagers!

Although I do need a kettle so I can make my own tea!!

Thanks Dave, remember "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog" You'll do just fine I'm sure {your kind and loving brother will see to it} ..........Jim

When you've finished with all those CDs, get yourself a small flat ceramic tile for a pallet. Easy to use and even easier to clean. Wait 'til the paint is dry and scrape it off with a blade. Voila! Ready to go again and no need for water/cleaning fluids.

Ah, yes... a fellow teatotaller. I have a small frig by my workstation, usually filled with water, but occasionally I throw is some stronger stuff to chill... small label root beers.

I have of late felt that proper enjoyment of wine requires more then the 150 ml glass with the main meal of the day, which I and The Other each restrict ourselves to. Prompted by this thread, I found on the NHS site that 3 to 4 units a day, regularly, is the max. safe amount for a man. That equates to 300 ml per day. That's double my consumption. Yippee! (It often pays to do research!)
