    Help with scale

ive searched to see if its been asked before, but no luck.

What size are 10mm buildings compared to 1:35 scale models? Im struggling to find what i want in 1:35, but have found them in 6mm and 10mm model kits.

I guess this is related to railway stuff, and their guages?

If anyone can help, i appreciate it.

    Thanks

Well 1/35 is usually described as 54mm - when you multiply 54mm x 35, you get 1.89 metres, so the height of a man.

Obviously 10mm buildings would be a fifth of the size of a 1/35 one!

What kinda buildings are you after Dave?

Thanks patrick, these are way too small then.

I want to get some iraq or middle east buildings, but im struggling like hell.

Found an airfix kit, 1:32 but it doesnt look all that great.

I want to find the plaster daubed buildings or walls.

Ive got an Abrams kit, 1:35 plus some concrete barriers, and US soldiers, and just needed a bit of background.

Well how about Miniart? They do this one

They're vac formed buildings which can be a PITA to construct!

Other than that, try FOG coz they sell plaster buildings. You only get the frontage & not the extras that Miniart throw in, but they're cheap & quite nice.

I don't have a bookmark for the buildings, but here's the main site

Try Downtown Deco from America, his stuff is superb and suits railway and military modellers alike, he also has an ebay shop.
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

I'd definitely check that Dave. I recall that I had some issue with the postage cost which FOG sorted out.... yeah just checked my email & I bought 2 houses and the postage was £6.99 for mainland courier, although it was initially double that before I checked. I think it's an ongoing fault in their site.
