LED lighting using a wall socket

I'm currently creating a model using 3V LED lights. At the moment, I wire them up to a 1.5 amp regulated power supply. What I really want to do is hook the wire up to a normal plug and then use a wall socket.

I'm not 100% clued up on electronics, but one of my plans was to buy a 3V power supply adaptor from eBay and then join the wires. Any suggestions before I blow something up?

You need to know what the forward voltage of your Leds, there is a free led array calculator on the net I've not used it for a while but give me a minuet and I'll find it
