    1/48 scale rod or square

hi guys and gals I'm looking for some advice here
I'm building my WW2 bash for Ian's group build ( Mad Max style ) I'm looking to build a scaffold support for my Airacobra ( radically cut down at moment ) which in turn will support an axle and some Opel blitz wheels etc etc ( all from my spares drawer.
What is the best styrene or plastic to use.
I've got some evergreen 1mm rods but think they may be too thin so I'm after advice

    Regards

What scale are you working in Robert?

    At 1/72 - 1mm scales up to about 3 inches, and at 1/35 it's about 11/2 inches.

    Duh! Just read the title!

At 1/48, 1mm scales up to about 2 inches - about the same as a normal scaffold pole. As this is a 'what if' build, you could get away with 1mm as the people who built whatever it's going to be would have used materials at hand.
